Bitcoin ATM kiosks are coming to Seattle, Washington and Austin, Texas.
Reuters reports the first bitcoin automated teller machines in the United States are expected to be installed later this month.
They are similar to regular ATMs but have scanners to read government-issued identification, such as a drivers license or passport in order to confirm identity.
The Las Vegas based company Robocoin is behind the installation.
Last year, the company installed its first bitcoin ATM in Vancouver and, later this month, will start operating one in Calgary, Alberta. Robocoin also has plans to install ATMs in Europe and Asia.
