Austinites now have the ability to choose whether or not they participate in the controversial smart meter program. That comes after months and months of lobbying Austin energy by Austin Activist and natural health advocate, Dr. Laura Pressely.
Dr. Pressley and her husband began working with the General Manager of Austin Energy, Larry Weiss, to develop the opt-out program after they found, “they were both having headaches, swelling, and their muscles were involuntarily contracting at the same periodic rate, every 25 seconds, that thier Smart Meter was pulsing.”
The program, which officialy began on Novemeber 1st, makes Austin the first Texas city to offer it’s citizens an opt out program. To learn more about the program and how you can opt out, visit AustinSmartMeters.com
